Our Farm

Richmond Country Farms has been family-owned and operated for over 40 years! The market is a unique and lively place to shop. The vibrant agricultural heritage of Richmond, B.C., has helped make our Farm Market a popular attraction for local shoppers and visitors alike! During the growing season, we provide our customers with our own grown corn, strawberries, brussel sprouts, potatoes, broccoli, kale, watermelon, blueberries, pumpkins, and multiple varieties of squash- we can assure our shoppers of the very best local produce at the very best prices. We are proud to be one of the very first farm-to-table markets in Richmond, having opened for our first season in 1978. We practically invented the 10-mile diet!

The Lower Mainland climate offers excellent growing conditions for an incredible variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our farm and local, small-scale, family farms cultivate many unusual, heirloom and unique varieties that cannot be found in regular grocery stores!

A friendly reminder to all that Richmond Country Farms is not a petting zoo, and to please not touch or feed any of our animals that live on the farm- this is to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, and our customers.

Local & Organic Selection

At Richmond Country Farms we believe organic production is based on principles that support healthy practices. These principles aim to increase the quality and the durability of the environment through specific management and production methods.

The general principles of our organic production are to:

  1. Protect the environment, minimize soil degradation and erosion, decrease pollution, optimize biological productivity and promote a sound state of health;

  2. Maintain long-term soil fertility by optimizing conditions for biological activity within the soil;

  3. Maintain biological diversity within the system;

  4. Recycle materials and resources to the greatest extent possible within the enterprise;

  5. Prepare organic products, emphasizing careful processing, and handling methods in order to maintain the organic integrity and vital qualities of the products at all stages of production;

  6. Rely on renewable resources in locally organized agricultural systems.
